L.A. Open
Well, the L.A. Open didn't happen for us, but we took a good run at it! The course was a very difficult one, but I think Jason did well considering the difficult course was in VERY poor conditions! Seriously...... I would step on what looked like dry grass only to sink into mud! AND... they weren't playing "lift, clean and place", so these poor guys out there were having to fight mud and grass covered balls! Sooo poorly run, for what is put under the PGA name! They changed two of the holes last minute which really screwed up a few of the guys, and they were very lax about keeping up the pace of play, which, if you have ever played golf, know that it can really mess with your game to hurry up and wait! The low score on the par 72 course was 69 and the high was 89! They had 6 who just plain gave up and withdrew! Jason shot a 79, right smack in the middle. Due mainly to the stupid mud! Seriously, you could see half of his ball, because it had sunk into the fairway and the PGA ruled his ball as "normal conditions"! He would have this beautiful tee shot right down the middle of the fairway and he almost couldn't see his ball, because it had sunk! He missed a few puts, but made great tee shots and his iron game has really stepped it up a notch. Jason is hoping to play in the Winter Series Golden State Tour. His next tournament will be at Oak Valley Golf Course, in Beaumont , CA. I caddied for him at the PGA Tournament, and I would love to do it again. I have to admit that the "hills" (small mountains) of Los Serranos were a little more than I anticipated! I was definitely "done" by the 18th hole, but all in all, Jason said that I did a great job. I really enjoyed being out there without being the one that was "out there"! Heeheehee We met some new friends and had a great time!
